Hi guys, i`m looking to replace the 4 Michelin tyres on my Yank, so was wondering if i wanted to have them imported from the States where they are practically half the price, would it work out cheaper after shipping tax etc if so does anyone know of any good companies/sites that do this.
Thanks in advance

Tyres aren't cheap tp ship due to the size.

Then add on import duty, VAT and a handling charge this end.

Ron Fenton of STS Imports brings in a container once every six weeks or so that he rents out space in so might be worth talking to him.

I think that by the time you import them from the States you will pay about the same as if you by them here.
Try talking to Northants Tyres....I have used them a lot over the years and they are real good!smile

Definately not worth importing them personally from the US. It only just worked out even about 3 years ago when the dollar was 2:1 and VAT was less..

Northants or similar...

(there might also be some non EU rated tyre issues too from America, but I've never had a definitive answer)

Tyres have to be E-marked so may be illegal. They sell Nitto drag radials in the US, for example, which are not legal here.

Quite often, they also use a different rubber compound. The standard Mustang Pirelli P Neros are rubbish, for example.

Just another thumbs up for Ron Fenton I think he has a container leaving at the end of June.
