I'm toying with the idea of importing an 01/02 TransAm WS6 - on question does stand out however is that of IVA. IIRC this is on a rolling 10years meaning that I wouldn't have to worry about this, am I correct? I guess as a lead on from this if this is the case then I guess that modded vehicles are lso not a problem then?

Correct. Provided date of manufacture is over ten years ago it just needs to be MOTable.

I'm also assuming that once you take the ins/transport/import duty/vat etc into account that a $15,000 car would actually end up being £15,000 (or quite close to it)?

That's basically what we tell people.

Whatever the cost of the car is in $ just change the currency symbol to £ and that's roughly what it will be once it's on the road.

mind you if I find one in Europe how does that work? If it's in the EU I'd imagine that if it's legal there it is here too? What about places not in the EU (eg Switzerland or Sweden)?
