I have a Middle East version, bought from new.

When the speedo indicates 120 kph (115 Kph on GPS), the Vehicle Overspeed warning appears on the dash. It can't be cancelled and blocks any other info from being displayed.

Took it for a service last week to the main GM dealer and asked him to remove it, to which I was told it could not be removed.

I know there has to be a speed warning here in the ME, but does anyone know how to disable it?

Depends if its tune based or part of the BCM.
Older models used to cap speed and that was easily defeated in the tune.
I can take a look at a 2011 tune and see whats in there. If EFILive can pull it out then that may well be your answer.

Let me know if you are keen to go down that route and Ill verify that its possible.

Most GM vehicles have different region settings in the BCM so that the programming is relevant to the specification for that area. For instance Corvettes have North American, European and Middle Eastern programmes. If you treat NA as the base then the European programming makes the BCM look for a steering column lock, reverse gear lock out, internal motion sensors and so on. The Middle Eastern programme has some of the same attributes but does not include a column lock, however it does include the overspeed warning. You cannot de-programme the overspeed warning however you can try and programme the car to another region but this can be risky as any specification variations can have repercussions. The example with a Corvette would be that you can programme a Middle East car to Euro spec but it will not start and the lighting programme will be messed up, the failure to start being due to the car looking for a column lock which it cannot find. You may be able to programme the Tahoe back to U.S. spec but this may cause you other issues elsewhere, though I think this may be your only option.

Unless its in the ECU in which case it will be fine smile
No BCM change. Just a minor Cal adjustment..

This is a section from a 2011 Tahoe 5.3L
Ideally you would want to pull your tune out and check the same area. Im guessing yours will be set to 120kmph and not the 158 of this one.

Change is easy, just type in what you want and flash it back in. You would need to also tell it to use the ECM for the source rather than "other module" aka BCM

This is par for the course.
