Hi lads.

Been thinking about getting this done to my 2005 Escalade for a while but the recent thread in General Gassing has got me thinking if getting it done sooner.

I know the Vortec 6.0 V8 is shared with the Escalade, Hummer, Yukon, Tahoe etc and I'm wanting to know if this will cause problems with the valve seats and if ill need the hassle of flashlube?

I know it's a long shot but thought someone might know.

Thanks

Roo

With GM engines it's recommended to either go with flashlube or, preferably, hardened valve seats.

There are a couple of alternatives to flashlube that go in the gas tank. The only problem is they need replacing after a while. 50-60k miles

My installer won't use flashlube anymore cos he says it odoesn't workswhen you are cruising only when accelerating. Flashlube also feeds when you are on petrol whereas the in tank stuff only works when you are on gas

Total Cost of ownership is probably cheaper in the long run.
