What a pain! No one has even heard of the stuff. My local Jeep dealer's (Harley's Worst) parts department weren't even sure. Only when I told him the colour (pinky/orange) he told me he had it but couldn't confirm what spec it was. And he was after £10 per litre! (I need 7)

I've read that Comma G05 is meant to be an equivalent spec, has anyone had to use the stuff? I can get 10L of it locally for £40. It's a 2003 4.7 V8 by the way.

Cheers in advance.

Not sure but as far as I am aware its the only one which fully matches the Ford Spec for the S197 Mustang.

Brilliant, as far as I know the Premium Gold Ford stuff is HOAT so seems to be the right gear. Cheers!

I need this stuff for my Grand Cherokee, phoned the local dealer who said they just used regular coolant when servicing despite the specs saying HOAT only? Got some G05 coming to my local factors same as you OP, £40 for 10 litres.

Nightmare, doesn't do much for your confidence in your dealer anyway.

Yep, it's a bit worrying. Just picked mine up and it's a bit of a pain getting all the correct fluids to give it a service. Got diff oil ok, need transfer case oil now and it's a pain trying to find the right thing.

What diff oil did you go for? I read that Redline 75w-140 has friction modifier built in which would save me bothering trying to mix my own in but I'm struggling to find it in containers bigger than 0.95L (need just over 4L for front and rear I believe).

Also, you can use Mobil 424 tractor fluid (yes I'm serious) in the NV247 transfer case, Jeep even recommended it in updated service bulletins supposedly.

I went for this, it's LSD ready apparently

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675....

It arrived today. BTW easy enough to see the fill plug but where do I drain it?

And yeah with regards to the transfer case I saw that the agri stuff was suitable so will probably go down that route.

Discovered a tiny leak from the radiator today so that's coming out tomorrow, at least I found it before I changed the coolant...

Cheers I'll look into the Lucas oil.

The drain plug is on the right hand side of the diff just behind the cover.
