yank insurance for first time yank buyer
Discussion
im hoping for some advice for the best place to look for american car insurance as im looking to buy my first yank, obviously i want a v8 ive mostly been looking at 80s and 90s stangs and camaros, one problem however,im 26 and had a quote today for a 1995 5.0 gt mustang and the cheapest one was 1400 pounds,am i screwed cause of my age?ive had an alternative quote on a bmw 530 v8 for 500 quid, ive been driving 9 years and have four years no claims on one of my current cars
Sometimes it pays to be a bit older.
I've been getting quotes today for the 2006 SRT8 6.1 JGC I hope to collect this week. Fully comp., me and wife, incl. legal cover but not breakdown.
House insurance is with Saga - they quoted £228.
Dog and both current cars are with Direct Line. They quoted £185. I can live with that.

I'm with A-Plan, I've always been totally satisfied with their customer service and they'll shop around for the best deal. I'm 28 and pay around £550 for my '92 Camaro Z28 5.7, it's garaged and limited to 5000 miles a year.
Got a good deal from A-Plan for the rod as well. Fully comp, £156.00, 3000 miles. 302 ci V8 Mustang powered.Maybe i should start looking into my insurance a bit more as you are all getting better quotes than me. I know area plays a part. But i'm just outside london. 42. 10 years + NCB. No convictions Dodge Ram £567 ltd 4000mls. Corvette C6 £590 ltd 4000mls. Chrysler 300c £640 unlimited mileage. Will have to shop around a bit more for next years quotes.
Some interesting figures people are getting here.
My 2003 F150 Supercharged HD is £450.00 (5000miles) a year with NFU
Quotes for a Jeep SRT8 have been around the £500 mark (8000miles).
46 full No claims in rural bedfordshire.
Perhaps i should ignore the offer of a free meerkat and speak direct to the specialists

With Yanks, specialists are the best way to go. There are a lot of them out there who will offer a lot of cover for not a huge amount of money.
As has been said though, just watch out for certain stipulations about where the car is, can it be used for x etc.
Adrian Flux have always been imo ridiculously over priced, some alternatives:
