I drooled over this last Sunday:

It's stunning in the metal. Panels and paint quality is top notch. It feels well built. Only thing is the door doesn't clunk shut, more slightly clangs shut.

Interior quality is much better than expected. There's leather trim on the dash, door arm rests and center arm rest. Leather is Mercedes quality. Plastics are more Mini, but still perfectly acceptable.

It has great stereo as standard (Boston Acoustics), and Head Up Display which is amazingly cool (you can select what is displayed, and adjust the display up/down) and which I absolutely loved.

The salesman started it, and it sounded fabulous. Blipping it was just as good. Sounds rorty and angry, and wonderful.

Am in love .. test drive for early September.

That's the one by the dog track. I was passing by when they took delivery of it.

Have to say if I was in the market for one I would go secondhand import.

Brand new US Import, you're looking at £40,000+ for the V8s

I'm sure I've seen import secondhand V8s at around the £20k mark and then you get the decent wing mirrors not the giant truck ones biggrin

Here's a 2010 for £26k

So when does it get 22mpg then?

ETA Sorry I have just read your ad properly. That kind of petrol usage is the same that I get from my 1997 E36 323.

I'd be tempted to replace the Monaro - but I'm not keen on the UK model (and there is enough evidence to suggest a US one will be cheaper to get bits for over a longer term).

Like the Monaro, I'd want the top-model though - so a ZL1 or perhaps the 1LE (neither of which I suspect will show their faces here). Hmm. A nice new one with a UK warranty is tempting though isn't it? smile

I noticed American Dreams in Gloucester have an orange SS with 6k on the clock for a very reasonable £26500 on ebay.
He has been selling yanks for some time is is a bit of a nuisnace as he tends to price cars lower and drive prices down which he did after I imported my C5 Z06 which had been selling for near £40k at the time but he came along and started flogging them nearer £30k.

Depends what parts you think are different. Beyond the rear bumper, headlight washers and mirrors I'm not aware of anything else being different....

ZL-1 is not coming to Europe by the way.

The 4th gen waas largely the same as well but when you cracked those codes, a lot was EU specific including the glass, though I dare say it's mainly interchangable anyway.

1LE is just a "normal" V8 with uprated suspension and a few cosmetic bits, isn't it?

Yeah - but it's enough of a change that it's getting well reviewed state-side. Of course, any standard car can have the 1LE pack fitted for about $5k.

I think he's mentioned it once or twice before. I'm starting to feel guilty for not p/x-ing the Z06 for it now. frown

Suspension, tow hooks, tow bar capability for the EU model?
