Just looking around for a replacement for our old winter wheels, Range Rover LSE. I don't need to cross the Amazon, just a bit of space, road comfort & space to chuck stuff in the back ... inc wet dogs etc. and more importantly the ability to traverse rural country roads in the Snow.

Any thoughts on a Blazer ..... my alternative would be a Pajero, Jeep etc, but the Blazer appeals being a bit left field.

A mate had an 80s one in the 90s and loved it. Simple iron block pushrod 350 V8, not much to go wrong, a bit crude and basic though.

Something like a Silverado or Suburban (which I think is vast enough to qualify as an outpost of Ecuador) might be candidates, dependent on budget.

Had one 2 or 3 years ago. Loved it but couldn't find anyone who understood the 4wd system or could program a second key (came with only one). As I had new baby at the time and the wife needed to be able to use it as well I got shot of it (but not before replacing the aircon compressor, brake lines, alternator and some other bits). Still miss it though. Comfy, roled a bit (quite a bit), good load lugger, quick for what it was and in 2 wheel drive mode would happily wag its tail with the best......might be easier to maintain an old Cherokee of the same shape though....
