Hello all. Does anyone know of anyone or a company that repair the audio screens for the 300c. My one went blank today and has come on a couple of times. But its now gone out completely. Or is it a main dealer job. If so does anyone have an idea on cost. The rest of the unit works fine. Thanks for any help given.thumbup

Either this, I worked with Terry for a long time, or give me a shout tomorrow and I'll give you the details if a guy we use in Sweden.

There's a company there who can change US systems to European, including sat nav, and repair all sorts of faults on them.

It's quite easy to modify it to play DVD's too - illegal, but doable.

How do you do that then? . I spoke to Terry at mid Kent Chrysler yesterday. Very helpful chap. Gave me the number of a place in Rochester that does repairs. Will pop it into them this week. Will see about the DVD aspect also while I am there.

Terry is good for servicing as well. He maintains my Grand Cherokee. A guy came down from Brum the other week whilst I was there, obviously people are getting to know.

An update to this story. As of today just over two months of leaving it with a company for repair I've been told they are calling time on it as they can't seem to find another fault(or so they say) that has developed on this.

I left this unit with them on the 21st of August. I asked for a price on the repair, and was told it could be as much as £470+v.a.t. As with most thing you know it's never going to be any cheaper and true to form three days later I get a phone call to say they have bench tested it,and it will have to be out sourced to there work shop for repair and it will cost £470+v.a.t. I then how long will that be. I am told it will take upto three weeks. It's at this point I am wondering if the unit is going abroad for repairs. Three weeks go by and I hear nothing. On the fourth week I decide to phone to find out what's happening. I am told that they are still waiting on parts for it and it could take another three weeks. Now rather upset I ask why no one could have phoned me to let me know what was happening. I was giving a feeble excuse of they thought the unit was going to be ready and they was going to contact me as soon as.

Three weeks pass I hear nothing again.l then phone 4.30 on a Friday afternoon to be told that they are still waiting for parts that they are assured will be to them by the end of the day. Well I said. It's 4.30 on a Friday afternoon. There is no chance you are going to see those parts today. I will phone back Tuesday and I want to hear that you have finished the repairs and its ready for picking up.tuesday comes and I don't hear anything so give them a call. I am met with the same answer that it's still in the workshop and the tech,s hope to have it fixed for today. I ask for a senior manager to explain his company's st service. To be told I am very sorry sir but we fixed the initial problem but another one has developed. We are getting it sorted at no extra charge and it should be finished today or tomorrow at the latest. Well tomorrow came and the day after. Still I hear nothing. I phone Friday to be told yet again it's still in the workshop with this "new" problem and by Monday it should be resolved.

I phone back today and its then I am told that they are going to have to call time on it as they can't seem to find the problem. fking angry now I tell them I will be down tomorrow afternoon to collect the unit. I am told I will have to wait a week to collect as it has to be transitted over from there work shop. I ask is the unit even in this country and the person stumbles on the phone and says errrr yes,yes it is. Then why do I have to wait a week for it to come back???. To which I am told I don't know. I then ask can you tell me the problem with the unit. I am told the workshop won't release that info as they regard it as secret. Now angry I ask what am I dealing with here. fking Area 51???. It's a sat nav for fk sake. She said I am very sorry but the workshop won't divulge that info as its to do with the workshops job security.

I just laughed and said as a company your performance is beyond zero. I told them I want a call back when the units back and I will collect it. I then put the phone down on them. So for anyone looking for audio or sat nav media repairs. Then don't use a certain company by an airport in Kent.

It's the standard unit that comes with the car. Double din unit by the looks of it. But I may have secured a complete brand new unit for less money than the cost of the repair of the old one.
