Has anyone owned or had any dealings with the 2000 era STS Caddy Sevilles?

Reason for asking is I've been offered a very clean low mileage 2001 which I'm very tempted by, but although I've owned numerous yanks over the years I've never had any dealings with cadillacs or the northstar 4.6 engines and wanted to know what to look out for/steer clear of.

Thanks

We still look after a few and occasionally break them to keep a supply of affordable parts around. Check all the electronics/electrics work. The main mechanical issue was cylinder head gaskets blowing when coolant was replaced with a non-Dexcool antifreeze.

They look like alot of car for the money these days.

Wasn't the main issue with these cars that to get at the heads, the engine had to come out? I always saw them as something akin to a Rover 820. Road tests were not particularly kind at the time but then they rarely are.

Correct, engine and gearbox out.
