Hi apologising for hi-jacking this forum, but I have a MGB V8 with a edelbrock carb. Having problems getting it to run correctly, sympton is a massive flat spot on acceleration and now struggling to tickover.
I live near Rugby and need to find a decent engine tuner , preferably a mobile one who can come and help me sort this out. Will obviously pay for service. cheers folks. Mick 07427641774

Real Steel used to sell the tuning kits for these (various replacement jests, needles, springs etc.. ).. I'd have thought the recommended settings for your carb and the Rover V8 would be online somewhere..

Where are you getting the flat spot?

If it's off idle or steady cruise, a quick fix could be to move the rod that operates the accelorator pump (front n/s on my 600cfm Edelbrock) to the hole nearest the carb body.

If it's a 500cfm Performer than following link should cover it (or got to Edelbrock.com and find yours). Was very useful when setting mine up initialy.

Got quite a few jets/rods spare but range from .95 to 1.07 which may be too big.

As Stu said tuning kits for particular carbs can be got quite easily but if you need bits not included you'd can try Rockauto in the States (Edelbrock don't ship overseas themselves!) or these guys are in Sussex:
