Hi guys, so I write this as I'm sitting in my new caddy fleetwood, nice car, drives awesome apart from switching off randomly, engine light comes on slightly then cuts off as I'm driving, switch it back on straight away and it's fine. Had my foot planted when it switched off, it's illuminated in orange as 'engine light', now starting to flicker on and off.

Drove it from London to Leicester today, perfect on the motorway, in traffic though when I'm braking the fuel gauge is going up and down, the fuel light comes on, car misfires a bit and then when I'm on a good run it clears up again fuel gauge flickers when I brake.. Any ideas?

I need some good Yank experienced garages in or around East Midlands, anyone?

I can't see your pics in work so can't see what year it is but methodically I would check the air filter is the correct one, check all the EGR tubes for leaks, check any fuel filter, check the carb for debris and ultimately the fuel pump for delivery.

Sounds like something electrical. I don't think it is a fuel problem judging by the symptoms you are describing.

Go back to basics and check that the battery leads a tight and that the battery is secured properly. It might be that the brake light switch is faulty and running everything to earth.

Try disconnecting it temporarily and see if that makes a difference but be aware you will have no brake lights.
