Anyone have any recommendations for someone to supply & install a S/C in a 2010 Camaro? I've only found Monkfish so far, and am waiting for a reply. They've got Magnusons. Anyone with experience of other types?

If I can't find one, I may have to keep the Z06 (sorry Swerni!)

I've never tried a screw supercharger with all the power down at the bottom end but think it must place a lot of strain on the drivetrain. I know one chap with a Mustang who is taking his off when the car broke traction at 70.

Mine is a centrifugal Vortech which is very like a turbo and builds up rapidly at the top end so appears kinder to the drivetrain as it's more gradual.

Before supercharging though, bear in mind that it is a modification that affects insurance - the premiums can stay the same but only limited miles policy, they're not keen on daily driving and you may end up using it less. My C5 Z06 was cheaper to insure unlimited than my modified Mustang is on 2000 miles a year.

+ shipping + duty + VAT. Would wind-up being around £5,500, then there's the UK labour to install and map on top.

Personally I've got a Magnusson as well, 517rwhp according to the TUV papers...

There are a lot of people on an American Camaro forum that use a Whipple instead, as they tend to use higher volume superchargers (Maggie typically being a 1.9 or 2.3 liter), Whipple going up to 4 liter...

Most seem to start modifying internals and drivetrains somewhere above 650hp at the crank...

It's all academic now; just bought a Hennessey Camaro with a Magnuson TVS2300 already installed. How do you like yours?

Now then; anyone after an immaculate Z06?

Only got just a tad over 2500miles over it... but so far I absolutely love it smile

So much that it's becoming more and more tempting to swap my TVR Tuscan for a ZR1 smile

Did you buy the yellow one advertised on PH here by any chance?

Didn't see it on here, but yes, it's yellow. Came from Targa Floria in West Sussex. Should collect Thursday if it's not been washed away in the floods.

Home!

The 'charger totally transforms the Camaro, I reckon. I had an auto L99 a year back, and it always felt disappointingly underpowered. This goes like the Z06; it doesn't handle nearly so well, although the lower springs that are on their way should help a little.

This may be a keeper...

I did see that one on the Targa website, beautiful car and definitely looked like a great price.

500 hp is an absolute minimum.

At the wheels, that is.

I sincerely hope someone buys your Camaro quickly as I'm seriously looking at places to store it whilst I'm at work and large loans :s.
