Ford F150 FX4 (2005 model)
Discussion
I own a Ford F150 FX4 which I bought new when I lived in Oregon and shipped back the same year. It is probably unique in this country in that 2005 was the launch of the new F150 and it was released in bright yellow - I've never seen or heard of another here, and it is a real head-turner. A friend of mine has asked me if I'd be interested in selling it, but I have no idea what it might be worth. It's done just under 48k miles, and when I bought it, it was fully loaded - electric captain's seats, full black leather, off road pak, tow pack etc., and in immaculate condition. Anyone any ideas what it's worth?
Cheers,
Kev

This probably isn't the best place to ask to be honest. Try posting up the same thing in the American motors section of the forum pages as you may get a better response there, if there are any people visiting that are traders/salesmen.
However, I'd go with what F series of similar ages are going for over here at the moment, or have a look on ebay for others in the country and see whether you can base a reasonable price from that. Failing this, perhaps you could consult Glass's guide or an auction house to see whether they can provide info on the current book value?

Just to be particular, they were introduced in the second half of 2004; the first hals of '04 was the older model with a "heritage package". Cheers,

The FX4 is more the sports package. The Lariat or King Ranch versions are more expensive. Nice truck nonetheless. Cheers,

What cab is it?
I've just bought a Ram, and have been looking intently at this sort of price range. Sounds a nice truck, and if you're willing to sell and he's willing to buy, do it.
There aren't many buyers out there it would seem, these are special niche vehicles. I saw three trucks, two single cabs, both had been for sale for over 5 months.
Saying all of that, I was a buyer so there are some crazy people out there.

I've posted a pic of it on my profile. It has a full crew cab. I even have the original window stickers from when we bought it new from Dick Mckenzie Ford in Portland OR. I don't need to sell it, so I'm carrying on driving it for fun when I feel like it. I might take it to one of those American car shows possibly at Billing Aquadrome or Santa Pod.I've just bought a Ram, and have been looking intently at this sort of price range.
