Hi

Any lightning owners replaced there batterys with any simular model batterys for Uk model vehicles?

The reason I ask my local parts store relies on vehicle details only and are scared to talk about anything thats not showing on there computer!.

My battery on there is a motorcraft part bxt-65-659.

Thanks

I went to my local Auto Electrical supplier and picked up a top range Varta battery with a 3 year warrenty,Like for like replacement.

Truck starts 1st go even in -12'c after sitting for 4 weeks outside.

To be fair the original battery was still working fine but was weeping aroind one of the posts.
Original 2003 Motorcraft and did 8 years good service.

Still works as I use it in the workshop for testing and lead light.

Sorry I dont as I put it on my company account
Wasnt cheap I know that.

Cant get to battery as mine is under the rear floor of the bed.

Take yours and get it matched for size, cranking power and terminal position.
Worth shelling out for a good make as these trucks hate poor battery condition
when starting from cold.

Thnaks for that.

Well halfords of all places have two batterys that look like they will fit but one is 650 and one 680 amp rated would that be to much?. My battery states 659 which seems quite specific. But they are only £100 so fair money better than my zafira!!

Was your battery allways under the back? as mines in the engine bay.

Thanks for help any how.

Better weight distribution if you want your truck to wheelie....

The company that supplied my new battery was SED at Guildford.
And from memory it was about £100

I would of thought if you got a good quality make and the CCA rating was about the same should be no problem ( CCA Cold Cranking Amps )
Can the supplier not match it from the Motorcraft number ?

I relocated battery to the rear to help shift some weight.
