clicking sound
Discussion
i get a clicking noise coming from the rear brakes only for a few moements after braking then it goes, for a quick test i pressed down the handbrake pedal the noise then stops, could my hand brake not be releasing properly? i need to get the handbrake adjusted anyway because there dont seem to be anymore grip when applying, svt any suggestions?
On the Mustang, the handbrake cables are an issue as the cable points up. What happens, even in dry use, is the rubber on the end of the cables rots off allowing moisture into the cable causing corrosion. Dependng on how bad it gets, you can sometimes spray silicon fluid or oil into the cables and it will release. Even on my dry use Mustang, this had an immediate effect on the ease of applying and releasing the parking brake. The rubber bellows can be replaced using a Zafira repair kit off ebay, a lot of force and lube.
The F150 may of course be different.

Cheers ,will check that.
We did pads all round a few weeks back, when it was all back together seemed fine but still had this
noise coming from the back end, also the parking brake was right at the end of its travel, like on the floor. At which point was only just holding.
Need to rip it apart and check shoes ,springs etc .Will check cables when there disconnected
should be nice and free.Used every day,so we dont want any down time if we can help it.
Cheers.
