just after some advice please....what are the key things to look out for on these, and is there anything specific to look for in the history of an 05 model with 70,000 on it?

thanks in advance

If you can get a VIP report from a jeep dealer it will tell you how much warranty work has been carried out on the vehicle and if any outstanding recalls need doing its a good way to avoid a lemon, the seals on multiplug going into the trans shrink and cause fluid loss but there's a updated part for that. I've seen issues with egr's and swirl port actuators not a lot you can do about egr's but the swirl port actuator failure can be avoided by having a redisgned turbo intake pipe fitted. Chassis wish suspensions really good only done the occasional dampener but make sure there's plenty of brakes left on it as these can be expensive to replace. But just check all the usual suspects as with buying any used car

Oh and the occasional electrical gremlin but there nothing terminal, just with the can bus systems on these say a abs sensor fails it will log faults in 3 or 4 modules and light up the dash like a Christmas tree lol. don't let me put you off though their a great 4wd and very capable vehicle I've been working on these since that shape model was released and still hold them in high regard tempted to get one myself wink
