Gents,

Grateful for some advice please. I have a 75 Lincoln Continental that will not see much use over the winter (but I will use it occasionally so don't want to lay it up).

Should I put it on to a trickle charger or not?

The clock isn't working so I don't think it is actually using any battery power but I guess the charge will naturally deplete over time.

Is there a danger that I would be charging it when it doesn't need it?

Thanks.

Best is a maintaner charger like a cetek then you could leave it on perminantly
just take a terminal off or you could just give it a overnight with a cheap charger every so often if you only charge at a low amperage say less than 2 amps for a bigish car batery it will only do good, high charge rates will boil it and that loosens the paste on the plates killing the battery, low charge causes sulfation which will perminanty reduce the capacity of the batery to hold a charge, so keeping it fully charged will make it last longer ...

Gents,

Many thanks for your quick replies. I will do some price comparisons and get myself sorted.
