Any good? Not the v8 one as I've heard the v6 is quite economical and that's really important unfortunatly I would have the V8.

There's only a couple of MPG difference between the two.

Road tax will be the same, and the difference in insurance will be negligible as well.

My mate has one. Just under 200hp in a c.1500kg package makes it average in the performance stakes.

However, the V6 was never meant to be anything other than a very basic car and I don't believe it even has a rear anti-roll bar and it has smaller brakes than the Z28 and no LSD. It may be slightly more economical than the V8 but not by a huge amount and insurance will be similar too. My 4th gen 5.7 Z28 in commuting returned 19-20mpg and that involved going over a large hill and through traffic and in that sense was better than my 3rd gen 5.0 Z28 carburettor car which returned 18 commuting.

My mate's has been reasonably reliable though he had to replace coil packs and he forever lives wishing it was a V8....and there's the rub.

I have driven one and that had the manual T5 gearbox which was better than the auto (bear in ind my manual 3rd gen Z28 5.0 V8 only had 170hp)and if you can find one with the T-tops as well, they provide a great all-weathers car. they suit Kumhos too which are relatively cheap.

If it has chrome wheels check the inside edge as they corrode badly.
