I really want to get a late 60s, early 70s Dodge Charger, Plymouth Roadrunner, Dodge Superbee etc type car. I don't know much about Yank metal but just have a hankering to own and play with one for a while.

Most I have seen in the classifieds that I can afford have been around the £20,000 mark but I missed the boat on this one:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3188697.htm

as that would be the price that I would willingly gamble and the car, which looks nicely looked after, would be fine for me as I am not looking for a show car or something that has been tuned up.

Just something standard that is not rusting away.

Now living in London I would suppose that I should go to the expense of renting a garage in order to protect it from the worse of our weather and not to leave it in the street for days on end.

Any advise greatly appreciated, cheers.

How good would they be as a daily driver and would, if looked after, they appreciate or at least not lose any money?

You are looking in the wrong place, try moparuk.com
Of the 3 you mention, Charger would be most expensive, Roadrunner would be cheapest, dependent on model option of course.

not a daily driver I would say the fun of owning them is being able to get out of the econo box or maybe the works van you have been driving all week and going for a blat or to a show this gives an ear to ear grin , fuel, mainternace, size make them feel like hard work if you have to go somewhere dull like work everyday, and you dont want to be driving them on salted roads they want to be tucked up in a dry garage untill spring ....driving

Thanks for the replies and the Moparuk.com site has a wealth of info, pictures and even cars for sale, cheers for that.

So it looks like I'll need to source some covered parking which will be pricey in London, if I actually buy one.

Andyrob, I'm possibly interested. Not looking for anything tuned up for drag racing, just a standard car that makes that V8 rumble. Oh! and affordable biggrin

Let me know and thanks.

If you want a more affordable mopar, look at the A bodys (Darts, Dusters Demons & early Barracudas), they offer a lot more value as they have always been a bit under the radar. I sold one to bloke on here a few years ago (byebyeMick) for a couple of grand. They've gone up a bit since then but nowhere near the prices of B bodies.
