MK1 Jeep Cherokee - lights broken
Discussion
In case anyone knows about Jeeps? It's a '96 MK1 Jeep Cherokkee (the first shape).
I left the lights on in an underground car park. Luckily the battery didn't drain. unluckily the lights won't come on at all now. No main or side front and rear. I couldn't find any busted fuses.
I don't think I've ever had a wiring diagram for this thing but I'll have search tomorrow morning on tinternet.
In the mean time I took off the headlamp switch and there appears to be no feed to the thick red/white wire going into the switch. (or maybe only about 6ishV - this disappeared when the lights were turned on).
So I bared a bit of the red/white wire and bodged up a wire from the fusebox (one of the 40A fuses) to the red/white and this has got them (and the dash lights) working again. Removed it when I parked up for safety.
The only thing I can think of is the timer relay might feed this red/white but I don't know where this is located.
Any pointers to online wiring diagrams and fuse/relay locations very much appreciated.

Found a full service manual (for the right year too!) here:

Looks like there is a break in the loom between the fusebox (Fuse 5) and the first split in the red/white wire which goes to both head and side lights. A case of a single point of failure which leaves you completely without lights!
I have bypassed it temporarily for now and will have to do a proper soldered job sometime later.
