Hello everybody!
I am new to this forum and I would like your help to make a decision.
I own a 1997 Chevy Suburban that has been wonderful over the years. It now needs a lot of TLC ie repairs. The quote I have got is as follows:
Corroded breakpipes £ 700
Snapped leafspring £ 500 (repair)
Rear propsh £ 309
These are failures ,on top of this there are the following advisorys
Front brakes £ 342
Play in front ballj. £ 400
Corroded filler neck £350

All this adds up and I wonder if it is worth doing. In these times is there any value in the car?Is it worth converting it to LPG?
What do you think? I love the car but there is a limit to what you do for love?
Hope to get some serious thoughts (Forums like these are sometimes keeping snotty nosed 16 y boyrazzzzers busy posting wiseassed comments )
I am happy driving a Holden so it is not the end of the world to scrap the Chevy.

Definitely shop around.

Any decent garage can make new brake pipes (I can't believe that all of them are corroded) and that must be a gold plated ball joint for £400.

'Ow Much??!!

Obv those are fitted prices, but for a vague comparison, 2 brand new Hotchkiss leaf springs for my Camaro were £300 'ish and had new UJ's and prop balanced for about £100.
