Advice on buying a Dodge Ram B250
Discussion
Hi guys, Been looking at these for a while and recently found one looking sorry for itself near my house. I chapped the door and asked about it and the woman said her husband only owns the yard but she will get the Ram owner to contact me.
Now what I want to know is, What are these like? I know fuel is very well liked by them but are they reliable? Are parts available? What to look for etc?
It's a 'H' reg with cloth interior.
Thanks guys!

I like them.
Bodies are much better than Chevy or GMC, often less rust. I think the bodies were better built and electrophoretically immersed.
Parts are dirt cheap from Rock Auto in the states.
Keep an eye out for rust in the front panel below the lights, front crossmember area behind the bumper. They have a habit of having the lower drain chanels block up in the front wings. first sign will be corrosion on the lower wing just in front of the front wheel
if it has a day van type high top fitted look carefully around the roof channels. on a US dry state import the sealant around the drainage chenel externally can shrink and dry out and allow water to seep into the 3 sandwhich roof panel causing corrosion which is difficult to fix. it is always worth using PU7 sealant externally to re-seal the roof drainage channel
Mechanics are pretty bullet prof.
Don't expect a magic carpet ride. a BA A team wandering hand on the steering wheel is usual because of all of the drag links etc in the steering. Don't forget the B250 essentially has'nt changed since 1971.
This is mine.
