Took the Vette out to our Essex regional Vette club meeting tonight........a nice sunny albeit cloudy evening......but so comparitively cold for the time of the year......haven't removed the T Tops and rear window once so far this year.......it was even cooerl on the return journey I chose to cruise at 70 mph to get some heat in to the engine......even that barely took it over 150 degrees so it must have been cold......usually in summer I'm struggling to keep the temperture down below 200/210......

Sounds great, I’m assuming not to far to travel,
See old mates and have a catch up etc,

I’m pretty sure this is the one of the reasons I don’t completely quit target shooting,
I look around now and apart from family the only time really get to have a natter with old codgers is at a shoot,
Got a couple of guys I get along with at work but I find now I’ve no one to call friends like when I was 40 etc,

So even though it can be a pain I really do need to stay in the loop as once i finally retire I probably won’t see a sole !!
Which sounds terrible but think it’s quite normal at older age ??
I’m fortunate to have family but some are very much alone
Which is sad,

Ok upbeat! Got my inspection today, however had no confirmation or time as yet?
Il be really pissed if it gets f—-ked up following the dramas on Monday phone

Good luck, hope a) they turn up and b) you get a good outcome so you can crack on.

Balljoints being done on my Firebird tomorrow, once that's done that's pretty much everything underneath new. Brakes, all suspension, bushes, the lot. Maybe I need to tell the DVLA? rofl

Ok all done , the guy was a gent, zero issues
And he reckons I should have my documents in two weeks!
More importantly I’m totally ok to proceed now thank god !

And he had a sense of humour, he said looks like I’ve a few hours work to do !

Great news.......whenever I see a TA of that vintage I am reminded of an 'old scene' I was privy too some 45 years ago perhaps. One of the then local hot rodders and muscle car frea brothers (I think) Chris and/or Cliff Jones had a white 455 SD Transam. Remember coming out on the the A12 dual carriageway in Romford from one of the roundabouts (now traffic lights) which were effectively large 'ovals' going east/west as he swept across the roundabout at high speed......in total contrast was the exhaust tone.......just a few ultra low rpm 'thumps' and it was gone.......forever implanted in my retina's

Yes!!

Guys, could we do a mini PH meet when NaT has finished his car? A few of us in the south around London and home counties; and I think an afternoon of V8s somewhere nice would be brilliant.

I suspect I'll still have the Camaro, and if not, likely to be something else American will likely be in the stable.

Just think N@T instead of that Poncho you could have wrapped yourself up with this £7K Torino. I'm surprised Andrew has wrapped himself up with this. I love FoMoCo stuff from this era but the warning signs are really sounding on this......even a 460 cu in is wrong.....should ideally be 429CJ.

Ahem, I've trademarked that term thankyerverymuch. wink

Even though you're all waaay darn sarf, I'd be willing to save up the fuel money and head down for a meet when it's finished.
