It's interesting hearing your thoughts on RHD US cars. RHD GM, Ford and Chrysler products are something I grew up with in NZ. In my small town of around 2000 people, back in the 80s you'd see a little old lady driving her 68 impala to the hairdresser on a Friday, 3-4 other 50s and 60s chevs in daily use, a big finned Chrysler a local builder owned that was cut down to a ute/pick up, a couple of Canadian export RHD Pontiacs, various 30s cars tucked away in backyards and then the hot rod/street machine boys with all the dressed up cars. The local garage had a Ford Jailbar pick up for their tow truck (known as Hector) and the further south you went, the more common the V8 rumble got.
To me it's the best of both worlds - you get the styling, but in my right hook Impala I don't need to be almost completely in the opposite lane to see if the road is clear to pass; I can go thorough tolls/drive in burger joints easily, and it's easy to pullout from being parked. Having said that, it was all 4 door sedans we got (50s/60s cars - we had a lot of two door and coupes from earlier years) but seeing these cars in daily use (and getting thrashed down the drag strip) was what got me interested in US cars.
Your 100% right ,more practical, better value for money as prices are lower but for me anyway it has to be lhd with a V8 under the hoodTo me it's the best of both worlds - you get the styling, but in my right hook Impala I don't need to be almost completely in the opposite lane to see if the road is clear to pass; I can go thorough tolls/drive in burger joints easily, and it's easy to pullout from being parked. for the whole American feel,
I’d have a RHD yank without hesitation!
So much easier here if one actually intends to use the thing, and especially if you’ve a passenger riding shotgun!
Something like a late 5.0 Mustang would be a fabulous weekend tool,
Why would anyone one the same car with the tiller on the wrong side!!!
How many times would it be driven in Europe??
Old classic type machines are by definition very lightly used so being a cack hander is no problem,
And obviously no choice!!!
Who honestly on here would consider buying an Aston or XKE in LHD?
And as for traditional, BMW’s and Audi are traditionally LHD to but who would buy one for normal use??
So that fabulous car that started this discussion would be a massive plus for me if it was my thing!!!

Now that’s the ticket !
Wonder what something like that motor would cost ??
Getting it to function with the shaker could be an issue I’d have thought?
Dreaming again!
I think that particular combo had quite a few issues in it's early day. I'm guessing it still has it's Jericho gearbox - it also was 'stroked' I believe and had a fuel injection system fitted.Ex- Marc Lamude/Barry George 'huffed' GTO Judge

I have another buddy, Jason with an early (presumably 455) TA who also went fuel injection and centrifugal blower but sourced from generic 'unknown name' suppliers......he's had his difficulties getting it all working probably....but I don't think anything has blown-up catastrophically......... haven't spoken with him for a while.......

Nice sunny morning at Bagshot Breakie meet this morning, and a fair few Mopars in attendance....including....
A matching pair of mean black Cuda's, an AAR and a 4-speed 440+6 (both with RPM stickers in the windscreens)

Nice !!!A matching pair of mean black Cuda's, an AAR and a 4-speed 440+6 (both with RPM stickers in the windscreens)

Seriously cool car the Cuda,
You’d have thought they would have been at Brands ,
But the roads are so bloody rammed these days I’m sure it just puts owners off making the journeys !!
Absolutely gridlocked here today, just mental and so so tiring trying to get anywhere!

Clever number plates on those Cuda's ! - and yes, pehaps regret not going to Brands myself......especially as its a mere 20 miles....and the overcast weather would be kind on a big-block......but the uncertainty of the return journey and that Dartford crossing tail-back?
The one I’m promising myself is once my TA’s done,And once fully proven it’s reliable I’m going to be everywhere with it for at least two summers !!
Like a proper last hurrah,

The Cudas and the Superbird are all local to Bagshot meet, so I can understand not wishing to sit in the M25 car park through the road works at J10 to get to Brands to sit in a traffic queue to get in and out of Brands and then do it all again, but much worse getting home.
Yep all part of the joys of living down here! Some of my kids are in Edinburgh for the Swift concerts
They said they can’t believe how quite the north and lower Scotland is!
My youngest said it’s like COVID restrictions again!!
