As said a big cube Poncho lump and paintjob......keep the NASCAR lookalikey black wheels and 60 section tyres......nice!
If that's genuine patina and not fake patina, I wouldn't paint it all.....I'd leave it as is, and spend the money on engine, undercarriage and a real nice interior.....like that guy with the mid 50's Caddy coupe. It's interesting hearing your thoughts on RHD US cars. RHD GM, Ford and Chrysler products are something I grew up with in NZ. In my small town of around 2000 people, back in the 80s you'd see a little old lady driving her 68 impala to the hairdresser on a Friday, 3-4 other 50s and 60s chevs in daily use, a big finned Chrysler a local builder owned that was cut down to a ute/pick up, a couple of Canadian export RHD Pontiacs, various 30s cars tucked away in backyards and then the hot rod/street machine boys with all the dressed up cars. The local garage had a Ford Jailbar pick up for their tow truck (known as Hector) and the further south you went, the more common the V8 rumble got.
To me it's the best of both worlds - you get the styling, but in my right hook Impala I don't need to be almost completely in the opposite lane to see if the road is clear to pass; I can go thorough tolls/drive in burger joints easily, and it's easy to pullout from being parked. Having said that, it was all 4 door sedans we got (50s/60s cars - we had a lot of two door and coupes from earlier years) but seeing these cars in daily use (and getting thrashed down the drag strip) was what got me interested in US cars.

DVLA has it down as a 6.2, (??) and untaxed since August 21. Looks ace though (leg burners excepted).Almost certainly got a 389 in it I would think, which was the standard lump in these at the time (which is 6375cc)

Stumbled across this today whilst walking the dogs. According to MrsC, who walks around there regularly, it's "been there for ages". It's on a quiet road outside a nice house. I thought it looked rather good!
Patina........nothing too new - had 'it' on my 4 speed '66 Galaxie 7 Litre.........also the F60 General Scramblers on black painted & 'banded' steel with 'chopped' springs...........but this was back 45 years ago in the late 70's (Jeez, I'm so ancient!)Motorama said:

As long as its not a rust bucket underneath, it does look good......would need a big inch Pontiac motor under the hood though to go with the looks.BUT.....I'd loose those ghastly side pipes though

Nice! Also, my Dad had a Bedford CF like that one in the background - takes me back! 49 Coupe de Ville in this month's CA mag. What an absolutely stunning design.
I had a 47 Cadillac and a 37 Packard as my wedding cars back in 2003 (wedding number 1 ), a chap from near Leicester who had some fifties stuff too, 54 Chevy maybe, it was a long time ago. Wonder if he's still around.
Edit - googled it - yes he is.

I know the '49 Cadillac is a 'Landmark' car, mainly due to being the first year for the 'lightweight' OHV engine. The first year too? for the Coupe de Ville styling. The last of the 'flatheads' the '48 is also noreable for being the last year of the flathead V8 and the 'fastback' coupe styling.

Yes, she’s mine, I imported it in 2019, sold it in 2021, recently got it back, well sorted car mechanically, needs a bit of cosmetics but the styling and drive are on point and rare with the bucket seat interiorLeighW said:

I pretty much had that bought a couple of months ago then he won the Car Of The Year at WheelsDay and decided to hang on to it a bit longer, I’ve previously owned four 49 Cadillacs , 2 convertibles and 2 sedans, would love to have a Coupe or a fastback, hopefully it will come back around.I had a 47 Cadillac and a 37 Packard as my wedding cars back in 2003 (wedding number 1 ), a chap from near Leicester who had some fifties stuff too, 54 Chevy maybe, it was a long time ago. I also have had a couple of 47’s with the 346 flat head, one a convertible and one a Series 61 sedan which is like a 4 door fast back.

and all at sensible money too. This won't be there for long at that sort of money.
