After rebuilding my 1.8 engine and refitting it out of all the possible things to go wrong it's my injectors. I just cannot get them to seal properly. Whole new set of seals me thinks. The fumes and mpg are killing me.

After thinking I had it sorted I took it out today anyway with my eyes streaming I came home and lifted the bonnet to find a small pool of fuel in the recess of the inlet manifold merrily boiling away.

And to make things worse I've just lost one of the plastic spacers that hold the rail on.

Soo frustrated.

Those plastic spacers are tricky little buggers - my fuel rail is currently fitted with just 2 of them as one disappeared when I last swapped injectors frown

Interesting I might have to do the same when the new seals arrive. Fooking annoying.

It's not ideal. Mine is only like that because I knew it would be short-term. I think you can get them from MX5 Parts but you might have to call them as I don't think they are on the website.

Sorted! I am a happy man.

One new O-ring and one bent wire coat hanger to fish the plastic grommet from behind the engine mount and i've atleast doubled it's fuel economy.

Not to mention no more itchy eyes.
