I spent 5 or 6 hours on Wednesday washing, claying, polishing and waxing the '5.

I noticed that the entire bottom edge of the nearside door is going rusty!

The driver's door is not suffering from this problem at all.

Is this common or has anyone heard of it occuring before?

Do we think Mazda would look at it - the car is 3.5yrs old with 52k miles, FMSH? I'm unsure what anti-corrosion warranty the car has?

That's bad.

Isn't there a 6 year warrenty on body work? I could be wrong though; it might be different for mk3s.

Just looked on the Mazda website:
  1. A 3-year unlimited mileage paint and surface corrosion warranty.
  2. A 12-year comprehensive anti-perforation warranty.
So I'm not sure. I guess I had best go and visit the local dealer.

Sounds like someone may have opened the door against a high kerb and scraped the paint off the bottom. I doubt you'll get much joy from Mazda. Sorry. frown

That's possible.

I do know, however, that the drivers door has been resprayed (due to accident damage) so unfortunately I have no way of knowing whether the above it true.

Going to head across one day next week and see if I can get any joy.

Cheers all,
