I have just had a brand new hood fitted to my Mk 1 MX5, and it looks 100 times better than the tired old one that was on before. However last Friday seeing as it was sunny, I decided to drive home with the roof down. After unzipping the rear window & folding the hood down I proceeded to enjoy my first roof down action of the year. When I got home & put the roof up I discovered a line of scuff marks all the way across the rear window!!! I guess this must have been caused by the hood rubbing against the window when it was folded down on top of it. I never noticed this on the old hood as the window was completely opaque anyway!

So can I polish these scuffs out? If so what with? If not is it possible to get just a new window fitted ??(Its the zip down type)

In future I will put a towel between the back window & the folded down hood.

Has this happened to anyone else??

In the future - unzip it so it lies flat.

ETA - i re-read that, and sorry, yes you did unzip it. I cant fathom how it got scratched but still...

As for the marks - I use Meguiars Plastic polish, works fine.
