38mm would be ideal but 42mm isn't far out. Up to 45mm is ok.

They do look very cloud9 but £789.99??? eek

These are a good copy... http://www.rarerims.co.uk/alloys_sub2.asp?id=29

Demon tweeks want getting on for £500 per wheel so I thought they were actually quite cheap ?!!? I have had bad experiences with "budget" alloys in the past; poor paint finish right through to bending out of shape (once they have seen some spirited action down a typical british b road) so thought that spending more on something as well known / branded as rays wheels may end up saving me cash in the long run ?

That is a very good price for those wheels.

I thought it was reasonable - anyone used the wheels lazza has suggested ? they dont appear to be of the nasty chinese variety so maybe worth a punt for the saving ? ?

That is a ste load of money to spend on wheels... You not fancy something second hand with a top quality refurb?

There very nice though.

ISTR that the Rota Grids Lazza posted are the wheels used for Spec Miata in the states so they cant be that poor.

ET 38 is bang on, I reckon if you went to ET 45 on a 6j wheel its gonna be on the verge off too far in.

My Enkeis are 15x6, ET40, and they fit bang on.

Nice wheels and actually a not bad price for new Rays wheels.

The wheels Lazza linked to are Rota Grid's which are a copy of the Volk TE37's. I used to have them in 16x7" they weigh ~15-16lb each which would be a probably a 4-5 lb's heaver per corner than the Gramlights you listed, they are considerably cheaper though!

If your after some lightweight 16" alloys, i have a set of gold OZ Superleggara (~14lb) inc good tyres i no longer use, PM me if your interested.

I know quite a few people who use Rotas including one who does sprinting and I use them myself as my track wheels. I don't know anyone who has had a problem with them.

for a 4 - 5 lbs saving the rotas win big over the rays from a pricing point of view and quality doesnt seem to be an issue either; Sorry for "doubting" your first response lazza - Ive read enough on here to know you're rarely wrong !!!

Your oz wheels sound tempting too though Paul - Ive pm'd you.
