Looking to buy a mk1 Eunos/MX-5 for track and a bit of road

As the title says, i am looking to buy an Eunos or an MX-5 - I say Euinos because i hear they have an LSD as standard - I have a Fiat Uno track car at present that i am looking at selling because i dont get to use it enough as it is a track only car, totally stripped out with only one seat and roll cage, and all sorts of other bits however it isnt roal legal and i cant get it to track days easily enough

I am hoping to be able to get around £1000 for the uno if not a little more and put this into an Eunos / MX-5 for the odd weekend play and some track work. What should i be looking out for - good and bad - on these lower prices MX-5's? (bodywork condition doesnt particularly bother me as it will be a track car mainly)
