Appologies to OP for hijacking your thread. smile

It might, if I had a loft hehe I've moved from T.C. Matt & am now residing in sunny Swindon....frown

Swindon had done away with all its fixed speed cameras, I knew there was a reason for moving there thumbup

Hello, it went very well thanks mate. It's a 93 K-Reg 1.6 S Special, 85k on the clock, shed loads of old bills and MOT's and generally in very tidy condition. biggrin
I took it out for a good run, and everything seemed spot on, so came him a hundred, going to collect it tonight and to pay him in full.
Only snag is that it has some bloody horrid Lexus lights on it and some 17's! mad But they'll be up for sale/swaps asap and it'll look lovely again!
So, when do you get yours mate? thumbup
I'm waiting on a cheque to hit my account, which might take a couple of weeks, but i've been talking with the owner of a J plate 1.6 Eunos import. From the pictures and description, and what he's said it seems like its in an immense condition both mechanically and cosmetically, which if it is when i go see it i wont hesitate in paying the full asking price.

Only thing is its a few hundred miles away, so i cant even go see it until i have the cash to purchase hehe No lexarse on this one tongue out and some nice 15's! haha, I expect pics tomorrow mate. thumbup

Well, the time has come (Almost!!) and I'm having second thoughts about getting a '5..

I still really want one, but i dont know if i could live with one, as an only car. The other thing i'm considering is a bargetastic 2.6 V6 Audi A4 Quattro, so plenty of space, comfort, but clearly not as much fun as the '5!

What should i do??? confused

Just get one. Its not like you'll be contractually obliged to keep it if you're not getting on with it. I'd imagine that if you get something a little more sanitised you'll be wondering 'what if?'. Fow what its worth I find the five more than acceptable for the daily grind. Coming from an Elise, it feels like a limo. Think early 90's hot hatch in terms of comfort/noise. Its perfectly acceptable.

I refer Sir to this thread. Read it.

But the roadster. An Audi A6 wont make your bum numb after 3 hours, but it sure as hell wont make you genuinely laugh out loud, on your own, as you drive it.

Do the right thing...!

I think you can probably guess what response this is going to get from a MX5 forum wink

Bear in mind running costs MX5 = cheap.
A4 quattro = a more complex piece of kit and more costly parts.

FYI, my 2000MY 4.2 A6 Quattro had to be put out of it's misery last year = running a bargain barge is great until you're looking down the barrel of a £2.5k transmission repair...

I could, but then not be able to insure either lol!

Another thing is the Audi is cheaper.. hehe If I end up with the Audi, I'll still end up getting a '5 at some point! I've drove one before and loved it.

Man, this is a hard decision!

Well, due to one or two things that have occured recently I have had to fore-go the purchase of the 5 in favour of something that seats a few more people. frown

I'm still hoping to pick one up at some point though, maybe just as a weekend/track slag car. smile

If I had to get rid of the '5 for a more "practical" car, I'd go for my old steer: DC2 ITR.
