Hi hope you can help, i have been ringing round to get prices for my rear discs and brakes on 1996uk 1.8 now one guy said that there are loads of choices and he would need to get the car in to have a look at the pad etc. How much iam i looking at , i just need standed ones as i only do about 6000 miles a year. There are not loads of choices for your car in terms of fittings. There is lots of choice in terms of pad material.
Assuming you're not driving like your hair is on fire all the time, or taking it on track. A set of these would do:

I got a set of Pagid discs and pads (rear) for a Mk1 1.8 for less than £50.
They are by no means performance pads/discs - rather road replacements, but they are good. I like them and will be chopping my fronts soon too.
