Anyone got one of these?

I am aware that it won't give me much in the way of power gains but looking for some nicer noise coming out of my '5 before the summer months!

I've got one fitted to a 1.6 and it certainly gives it a 'throaty' sound which I like, but doesn't make any difference with performance. For the price though thinks it's worth it............

The piper cross kits whilst lovely to behold are IMHO very pricey.
A possible alternative for producing a nice throaty sound might be...
I got a 2nd hand Arc magic chamber from Nutz <>£100 makes a lovely sound at & above 3.5k revs, possibly produces a little more torque wink

A piper cross induction kit is less than £100???? So no more pricey than your alternative! confused

ETA. The pipercross kit is readily available, good luck getting your hands on a used arc chamber......

Ahhh appologies. I was looking at the very sexy carbon fibre encrusted kit which is around iirc £270.

For a simple cone kit, I quite like the K&N (571?) as the cone is actually bigger/longer than most of the cones currently around.

Oh I see, I thought you were refering to the basic cone induction kit. In that case I to apologise. wink The pipercross cone is made from foam, where as the k & n is a paper type cone, apparently the foam is meant to be better, but I think it all comes down to persoanl preference really....

Going back on topic, to the op, if you're not expecting a increase in performance, but want a nice sound, go for the pipercross induction kit. thumbup
