2003, light green with dark blue roof, 48k miles, full service history, just had service, cam belt, 4 new tyres (16" alloys), brake discs and pads and MX5 parts sporty back box.
It's in really good condition - I was thinking in the region of £6200, or is that a bit high ?
Is it going to be better to sell now or wait until May or June ?
Assume you mean the very light green/silver colour (Cerion Silver)? Does it have the leather or cloth interior - and is it a 1.6 or a 1.8?It's in really good condition - I was thinking in the region of £6200, or is that a bit high ?

I paid £6300 for a 2004 1.8 Sport with less miles 12 months ago (and sold it for the same in June with 54k on) - so I think £6200 is probably a bit overpriced.
Looking on Autotrader there are quite a lot advertised for £6,000 though (mostly trade sellers), so maybe you aren't too far off. Seems that 5's haven't lost their value much at all in 12 months!
If it's up for £6200 at a dealer they might take £5800 for it in which case that would suggest a private sale price of no more than about £5300 or so - probably less as dealers tend to overprice MX5s.
Basically, it's worth what someone wants to pay for it. 2 identical cars might sell at very different prices, especially when sold privately.

I paid £5600 for a 2003 1.8 Nevada from a dealer back in October. Mine has got heated leathers, but has done more miles and whilst it has got a full service history, the cambelt is due for changing.
I probably could have haggled harder for mine, so for a private sale think it'll probably be below £5500.
