Hi,

What's the general consensus on the fair price of a hardtop to fit a Mk2/2.5 in excellent condition (Supreme blue if it matters)?

Also I have a set of 16" OEM Sport wheels that are lying around and they could probably go to better use. With decent tyres (>5mm) and in average condition or I could have them fully refurbed in OEM silver to get a better price?

I took the hardtop off the day I bought the car and it's never been back on since, but I haven't sold it juuuuust in case. The wheels came off soon after and I've kept them for the same reason, or to possibly boost the re-sale value / attractiveness of the car.

Thanks in advance for your opinions! smile

Hi Dave,

Supreme Blue seems to be a rare colour as far as finding hardtops go.

I waited 3 months for one to come along then 4 appeared on Fleabay at the same time. They all made between £400 - £500 depending on condition.

Mine cost me £500 including a padded storage bag.

If i were you i would put it on Ebay & see how you get on.

As for the wheels there is a set on there now in VGC with excellent tyres that finish tomorrow. so that should tell you what they are worth.

BTW It was me who pointed out to the seller they were 16" & not 17" Not that she believed me.

Thanks guys. I think the hardtop is a pretty firm bet, the price of the wheels looks like it may be a bit more unpredictable.

Yep....Depends on tyre make / condition & the state of the wheels. Probably best to just Ebay them as is & you will get the going rate.

2 of mine where bubbling when i bought the car. I paid £40 each for refurbed ones.

They are quite a popular wheel, i think you will get a good price!
