Ive got a cut in the passenger side of my hood (its been slashed and is about a foot long) on one of my mx5's and would like a short term fix like taping it up or some sort of glue/plastic weld.

I think its a vinyl hood , has anyone has any success in repairing theirs to a reasonable standard? And how did it hold up to the hood being folded up and down?

Ill be changing the hood later this year so i dont mind if it would look untidy as long as its watertight.

duct tape on both the inside and outside. make sure you clean around the cut to get rid of and residues of vinyl or cloth protection

Glue a strip of vinyl on the INSIDE of the hood.

Then if you are careful you only see a 'scar' on the outside.

Evo stick Impact adhesive is the stuff to use (B&Q etc sell it but you have to ask as idiots sniff it so its under the counter) unless you can get hold of the Trade stuff.
