Went to ikea this evening and bought myself a BILLY bookcase. My MX5 is now my only car.

Hat on.
Gloves on.
Top down.
Win.

Was tempted by the PAX wardrobe but I think the sides are too wide to fit in the footwell!

Define how precisely you want to achive a "fit" hehe Roof down, chuck bike on top, bungee cord. Sorted.

Have tried that one and it's so long it actually bends to breaking point. Quickly dived back in store and got them to deliver.

Tried to get my MTB in the passenger seat once, even with both wheels off it didn't want to fit. Could tie it to the rollbar though scratchchin

I got my mountain bike in

(but I did remove the passenger seat)

Also moved a CRT 28" TV, just fitted on its end on the passenger seat, roof down.

But had to give the shop the packaging to dispose of.

I once shifted what seemed a ton of tiles (tbh it might actually have been a genuine half ton) in 3 trips with my 5, and i also once had 2 huge lorry hubs in my boot. Sadly I didn't take a pic... rolleyes

mountain bike is easy- just take the front wheel off whack the bike in the boot and then tie the bootlid down with a bungie cord front wheel goes on the parcel shelf.

the boot lid at that angle gives the extra benefit of maximum downforce smile ....

A PC desk will fit. You have to put it up on the dash and the other end against the seat back.

Of course it's at that point you realise you can't put the handbrake on so you definitely do not drive home as that would be illegal.

One of the big American style fridge-freezers!
He does exaggerate the story though as I actually moved it for him in the back of my Focus. He didn't actually move it far on his MX5. Still a good effort though.

I have driven home from a garden centre with an 8 foot damson tree in my MX5. I had the roots in the pax footwell and the main part of the tree out the top. I got a lot of smiles driving home. I've also with a front bumper in the car - one end in the pax footwell, over the pax seat and with the other end resting on a bunch of cloths & sponges on the boot-lid tied with bungee-straps to the roll-bar!

I got a replacement door in the passenger side; inc. packaging it was poking way above the roofline and actually hanging out of the side somewhat (bungeed to rollbar).

ETA I wouldn't recommend it wink

Is that my local one, Edmonton?

I took a very similar photo a few months back carrying (iirc) some Malm (chest of drawers) and some Stave (mirror). North Circular was quite fun biggrin

The PAX definitely doesn't fit though. frown

edit: and it was probably easier to load than most hatchbacks: drop roof, insert load...

No, that's the Coventry MEGACUBE. the lift takes you up to floor 6, and you do the ol' crazy maze to the "restaurant" (with special tasty looking CO-WORKER ONLY chicken breasts, SIR). Down a floor to the gypsy bazaar, then when you get to the plants you have to go down a set of ramps to the self serve warehouse and checkouts. I don't know what floor this is, maybe 2.
Car Park and small cafe is on ground floor, another level of car park on 1. There's also a lift that goes to the returns bit on 4 but it's really weird, it's just a single room. I went up with another couple, the doors opened and everyone just stood there staring.
They really are building them like labyrinths now.
