Not used the mx5 for about 6 weeks so expected battery to be dead.

Come to charge it this morning, it's such a pain to disconnect.

Is that a 10mm bolt holding the far side connection on?

And the amount of water in my boot is laughable I've actually had to empty my spare wheel!

Grrrr back to skinning my knuckles!

I can take my battery out in about 30 seconds, and all the tools to do so, plus a pair of leads, are living in the boot at the moment!
Its just abotu had it so if i leave the car for more than 2 days I haveto remove the battery and charge it, or jumpstart.

For jump starting though, if your careful you can get the + lead on with the battery in place and then earth it onto a bit of metal under the back bumper.

I've jumped mine (on my old battery) using my portable jump pack, the + terminal and the wingnut that holds my spare in biggrin Works a treat.
