I wonder how long it took to dry the boot out after that...

Back when I had the Mk1 I drove through a big (BIG) flood. The water was almost up to the line down the middle of the car! If I'd known it was that deep I wouldn't have tried but once I'd started I just had to keep going.
I was amazed to get out the other side without a drop coming into the car (yes the top was down). It was actually that deep that the line of cars waiting to come the other way aborted and turned around including a Land Rover laugh

I went for a local club run with my 3 year old son at the end of last year and we encountered some serious flooding. At one point, we had to really slow down to get through one at a time (he wouldn't have been happy had we got soaked!) :

However, one of our members also has a TVR Chimera. Unfortunately, it didn't make it through the flood and last I heard it still hasn't recovered.frown

Not sure what speed exactly, but there is a 'critical' speed, and when below that speed, the water does not go up the sides like that ^^^^.!
hehe

Hit the puddles sideways you seem to get wet regardless of speed!

Didn't he know where the air filter is on a Chim (i.e. in front of the radiator, and not far off the ground)? Anything worse than a deep puddle should be avoided.

so it is condensation then? its not a leak to be concerned about - everyone gets it?

i know the silencer prob doesn't help being just below the boot floor but it does seem like a lot of water that collects on the inner side of the bootlid

looks like a bag of crystals for me too then

Check for leaks and that your boot seals are in good order.

I've heard of rear light cluster seals letting go as well so worth a look?

humm...

so it's possible water can get between the boot and the cabin then?

i assume, since only the rear boot seal is available (at £50 i might add) it's time to get the mastik gun out tongue out
