Does anyone know any companies that replace the zip in rear screen in a Mk1 hood?

Anybody had this done?

Edit - Sorry for the title...

Have you tried Nutz (before it was down)?

Jack Smith trimmers in Swansea are the most recommended.
Their complete hood bought new including fitting is massively cheap, but I think you can unzip and send them your rear window, they will stitch a new plastic screen in there and post it back.

I did the same as you and took the opportunity to buy a second hand mohair with a glass rear screen thumbup

And remember to unzip it before putting the hood down in future wink

Procedure:
Unclip hood (to take some tension off the zip).
Unzip and lay flat screen.
Drop hood.

Putting back up = reverse of the above.

I haven't even taken delivery of the car yet, the screen was like that when I bought it!

How much does the screen being replaced at that trimmers cost roughly?
