A bulbs gone behind the speedo on my 2003 MK2.5 - is it a dash out job and do I have to remove the steering wheel or is there an easier way ?

Cheers

If its the same for a mk2 as a mk 1 , remove the column shround , 3 or 4 phillips screws under the steering column , undo the 2 screws on easch side of the steering column holding the instrument shroud to the dash , unclip the shroud , remove the 4 screws holding the dials in and your away , infact you may be able to do it without removing the dials .

All sorted - took steering column cowls ( 3 screws) off to reveal the 2 lower clock housing screws. I needed to remove the dash binacle and this basically is pulled off back towards the steering wheel and you get the feeling something is going to break but with a fair amount of force it un-clips - 2 clips at steering column level and 2 clips dash top level. It came away with a bit of a crack which is worrying but nothing broken. Lift this away and 2 more fixing screws can easily be seen. I removed the whole clock assembly after removing the 4 screws and 3 plug in multi cables but the bulb holders can be reached from above with the roof down and looking through the windscreen down into the dash.
I replaced all 4 bulbs and it looks a lot better now.
