Battery Leak?

Just removed my Panasonic battery to be charged and found a black oily substance on the bottom of the battery and in the tray. I can't see an obvious leak on the battery and all the vent tubes were connected.

Is this a leak or anything I should worry about? I just mopped up the "oil" and there didn't seem to be any corrosion on the tray.

Could be collected condensation and dirt. Clean the battery and set it on a clean piece of paper. Wait and see if more oily stuff appears.

If there's a leak it's time for a new battery.
