After lurking around this forum for a while, I have finally taken the plunge MX-5 ownership, it was always going to happen after 2 years of reading PH.

Suffice to say, I'm rather chuffed as last month I picked up an RS-ltd for a somewhat bargain price. I'll be posting some pics up soon after I've learnt how to control it on the ice!

Anyway, I have noticed that the ride height is not equal on all corners and I was wondering if the Bilstein suspension it comes with is adjustable so I can get someone to set it correctly?

Also, i still heve a nagging feeling that it is just a little high, is there a way of lowering it on the current set up?

Sorry, if these are stupid questions!

Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to attending some meets as it gets warmer.

I don't think that Bilsteins are usually adjustable. The only way to be sure is to take a wheel off and have a look.

As for lowering it...

Std Bilstein is not adj.

However many japs are not on OE suspension.

Height can also be affected by alignment but TBH probably just old springs to blame.

Not stupid questions at all; I too have an RS which looks a bit high, also not the same height all round according to my ruler. As I said in another thread, I'm not sure at the mo whether to go for a set of lowering springs and adjustable shocks, or the full adjustable height setup.

Thanks for the replies, looks like a new suspension set up is on the cards.

The following two look pretty decent.

However, I'd rather not stretch to the Tein ones as I'll have to put labour charges on top of that.

Two questions;

Does anyone have any experience of GAZ shocks and springs?

Any idea how much I would be looking at to get this set up installed?

Thanks again for your help.

Huge threads on here and Nutz about Gaz.

Take a look at the koni sport kit circa £500 thats what I'd go for.

Try not to hijack, but I have a KONI STR.T set which are quite good for a budget set, not harsh but do feel like they have tightened up the car. But I feel they're too low. (arch lip to wheel centres 11.75" front and 12.25" rear)
Does anyone know where to get a lift spacer I can put in the shock perch to gain a 1/2" ?
