Well I've been doing the brakes today, managed to do the fronts fine but I've started on the rears and noticed the new bloody pads don't fit properly (EBC Yellowstuff) because the anti rattle clips / "W" shaped springs from the old 1.6 rear brakes don't fit on the new 1.8 carriers/disks/pads...

Is my only option to order these http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info.php/product... and wait 5 years for fking Royal Mail to deliver them??

The car is currently immobile as a result, I guess I could put the old rear disks/pads back on...? Is it safe to use old worn out 1.6 rears with the new 1.8 fronts?

Cheers for any quick replies! frown

As DTM suggests, just fit them without the springs. Order the new ones and fit them when they arrive but running without until then won't do any harm, especially with new pads.

Sorry I should have been clearer, it's the actual clips that the pads sit in that aren't right... Without them the pads are very loose and I can't imagine it working well!

I'm going to go to Mx5parts tomorrow and grab the kit anyway
