I'm running 185/60R14 (82H!) at the moment.

My choice of rubber is Goodyear Duragrip which I have found to be fantastic. Really impressed with them. Done over 10k miles so far...although I think a new set is in order!

I would get the alignment/geo done at the same time.

By the way, this is all on a Mk1.

Cheers

Possibly will be slightly more expensive (am waiting for a call back re: price from my tyre man) but in my experience, worth it!!

They don't do the F1 GDS3 thingies in a 14" If you can get em the earlier F1 GS2D(?) is a good tyre & available in 14".

Thats a great price, its been difficult getting advice from dealers as they seem to want to push some weired and wonderful stuff if they dont have what you call in for"The kamakazi 2000 supersport wintergrip 80 quid all round".

In the 14" I went for Dunlop Sport Fast Response* which I think have been great. (*Sometimes shortened to FR)

But if the costs not much difference I'd have the 14" Goodyear F1s one of the dealers offered you.

Quite!!

My tyre guy is a mate and the chap who owns the chain is a family friend!!

If you're interested in them, I'm sure he'll do you the 4 for £52 a corner too! They hold them in stock too which is nice and convenient too!!

Cheers
