Nothing serious, but when I get to around 6k or 7k on the revs, the gearlever/gearbox makes a rather loud and annoying rattle, as if it's about to explode. Anybody else experiencing this? Any known causes? Cheers guys.

sure its not the exhaust?
like a heatshield?
other than that the thrust bearing in the clutch.

Pretty sure it's the gearbox because when I hold the gearlever the noise quietens a tad but the vibration is mega.

Erm, without being a bit simple like, but have you checked the gearknob itself to make sure it's not loose?

Mine was when I got mine, and a bit of bodging soon quietend it down.

Easiest thing to check first would be the turret boots as said, and the nylon cup/bushing for the gear shift - it there worn and you've got a dry joint down there, with some play in it, i could well imagine it might shriek like a banshee if it hits a certain resonant frequency.

Oh. Haven't thought of that. Will try it out and see what happens. Hoping the solution isn't an expensive one...
