White Rollbar?
Discussion
Yay or nay?
Technically not a roll bar, cosmetic only.. im picking up something this Saturday, a single, straight topped 'loop'. I plan to weld this onto the top of my existing Cusco Harness bar - giving me a 'box' that hard mounts to the top of the seat towers.
Anyway...
White powder coat (to match the wheels) ? Crap or not?
Aren't cosmetic bars dangerous in a roll over accident? IIRC when I had a Mk1 MX5 there was plenty of discussion about these things being more dangerous than not having any bar at all as if the car ended up on its roof they would get smashed onto your head!
Cheers.
ETA - not into white wheels usually, but that pic of your car is making me want to go buy another one!

I don't think there is any evidence that "style bars" are dangerous.
I've never heard of a style bar folding onto anyones head, I have however heard of and seen pictures of a style bar that didn't fold when a car rolled on the road and probably saved the guys life. A full roll bar is obviously the safest option and a style bar shouldn't be fitted with the intention of it giving any protection but it's really no more dangerous than leaving something heavy like a tin of beans in a shopping bag on the passenger seat.
