I've recently fitted a push button start in the cig socket, which uses up the power as well as tapping into the ignition wires.
I've now fitted a new power outlet for my ipod sat nav etc on the passenger side. However I'm now stuck to where I should tap the power. I'm guessing it should tap into someting that is at least 15 amps or more. Any ideas as I'm stuck!!
I did think of the heater. Tap into the positive lead, and then the negative to the chassis?

The push button start came with instructions and was easy to set up. It looks and works great! Can recommend it.

As a quick topic hijack, who can tell me where the easiest 'ignition off' wire is so I can splice it for use with the stereo?

Is it the cigar lighter?

You mean a switched live?

There should be a switched live already contained in the loom that runs to the stereo as standard? I seem to remember its quite neat with two plugs, one for power, one for speakers.

I guess so if that's what it is called...

The only live I have is a blue and red cable into the power block of the loom.

Can anyone tell me what colour cable I'm looking for if mines obviously not connected?

Sophies' is the same.

I am pretty sure that Miata.net will give you the answer... they know everything.

Certainly mine has a permanent live, a switched live, and a live power feed to the aerial also.

Unless you need to light up, you won't need a 15A supply
