Hi guys. Just been in my GFs Mk2 and found the carpet in the driver's side footwell is sopping wet.
I can't see anywhere obvious where it might be coming in. Are there any typically points where water is able to ingress?
I'd been putting it off but me thinks its time for a new hood.

The usual culprit is blocked drain holes, unless of course there are massive holes in the roof. These are situated under the carpet on the parcel shelf, just behind the seatbelt points. It's not so easy to find with the hood down, best to unclip the hood and partly lower it, you can probably find them by feeling around. Alternatively, if you have a ramp you can find them from below. An old ariel or straightend coathanger will do the trick. I recently bought a flexible drain prodder thing from a cheapy pound shop but haven't put it to the test yet.
